Exercise - going for a morning or evening walk can greatly reduce stress in your life - even if it's just one time around the block. Side effects of walking are great they include weight loss, clearer mind, increase of circulation, confidence, relief of some aches and pains, breathing deeper, better sleep etc.

Ween from the caffeine - Caffeine produces adrenaline in your system which gives you that high, up feeling. There are quite a few pitfalls of coffee and caffeine consumption. Our bodies are natural chemistry factories and are constantly producing hormones and other drugs and releasing them into our system to keep up with our thoughts, and our perception of our environment. Caffeine actually leaches calcium out of your bones due to it's acidity. Your blood constantly maintains a state of homeostasis or balance and when you drink coffee or caffinated drinks, your blood pulls calcium out of the bones in order to maintain that balance. I notice that when I have been away from caffeine for some time and then have a cup of caffinated tea or coffee I get a rush, but it feels more like I'm nervous or fidgety or something, it is a subtle feeling, but my hands and body feel like they are trembling, I don't feel like my natural balanced self which makes me uncomfortable. It may take a while to slowly ween yourself from coffee or other caffinated beverages - they do have tendency to be addicting, but it is worth it in the long run.

Stop drinking soda - ever hear the fact that there are 10 spoon fulls of sugar in one can of coke? It's like drinking a candy bar. There's nothing better to create diabetes within your system than supersizing on a daily basis. Upgrade to an herbal tea with no caffeine or sugar or better yet delicious purified spring water.

Refined foods are great for creating diabetes as well- white flour products, cookies, crackers, bagels, white rice. These things are like eating plastic food devoid of nutrients your body can absorb, and they turn to sugar in your intestines so you might as well eat desert for dinner. Eating whole organic foods (fresh vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, and whole grains) is one of the most important keys to health.
